Our little Braxton is truly the biggest JOY in our lives! We can't believe how much he has grown and how "Grown Up" he is getting! He is such a smarty pants and amazes us everyday! To us of course he is BRILLIANT! He is talking like crazy and starting to put sentences together! He loves life and is bursting at the seams with energy!
"I'm a Big Kid Now!"
Braxtons LOVES to go potty! He insists on going all day long! I think he likes the process of going...
He loves to sit on the potty, grab a book, get a piece of toilet paper and drop it in the water, flush the toilet, then scream "All Done".
The Easter Bunny brought him a toilet seat and these pictures are the first time we put him on. I asked him do you need to go Pee Pee and he told me yes so we waited and sure enough within 1 min he started going! I scared him so bad because I was cheering so loud and yelling to Tyler to come here. He just laughed so hard and thought he was pretty cool! He sits on the potty many times a day but hasn't done anything since that first time.
Braxton has been telling me for the last month when he needs to go before he actually goes in his diaper or he comes and finds me to change him if he just went. I hope he's an easy potty trainer but I am not counting on it! I am not even thinking of starting this process anytime soon!!!!!
*Excuse the nudity he was getting ready to get in the bath tub
MAKE ROOM FOR BABY!
We actually moved Braxton into his new Room and "Big Boy Bed" when he was 17 Months. Very early, I know but he was ready! He needed more space since he's such a big kid! My Doctor actually told me that's probably why he had stopped sleeping through the night about a month before because he just wasn't comfortable in his crib anymore. He had a hard first few nights (I felt like I had a newborn again) but loves it now! I am so glad I did this early and got him use to the change before the baby comes! I have been trying to bring all the baby things out here and there a couple months early so everything doesn't change on him at once!
My sister needed somewhere to store this day bed (this is the bed her & I slept on when we were little) & since I have a huge storage room I offered to store/use it for her until she wants it back. We needed to buy a bed for Braxton but I couldn't find what I wanted and thought why not use a free bed while we look or have one built! (I want a bead board bed)
Braxton is very excited "Baby" will be sleeping in his room If you look carefully there is one of my baby dolls in the bed that we dressed up as a boy and wrapped in a blanket. I did this first thing when we switched beds so Braxton would know that was baby's bed now. He strongly insists in checking on baby all throughout the day. When he first realized the baby was in there on his own he was a little worried and upset with me that I was not getting the baby out and taking care of him. I just had to remind him baby is sleeping and we haven't had problems since. I need to move the baby out of the crib here in the next week or so and tell him baby will be coming home soon so he's not confused and can kind of forget about the doll.
He shows me throughout the day how to rock the baby and how to be quiet by putting his finger up to his mouth and shushing me!
The matching rag quilts were my first sewing project good thing you can't look too close. Thanks to Kari for helping me. I had so much fun & I got so excited about it I decided to make quite a few things for Boston but haven't even started them yet and I only have 5 weeks left! How did I know this would happen! The room isn't quite done being decorated but I guess whatever is done will be just fine when he comes home.
NURSERY!
It actually was such a bitter sweet day for me. Bitter, because my little guy is getting so big & knowing he truly isn't a baby anymore! I felt like I was abandoning him in a way. BUT, oh so sweet that I didn't have to chase and wrestle him for 2 more hours! YAY FOR NURSERY! Braxton doesn't even look back when I drop him off! He actually throws a fit and throws his body down on the ground & cries or tries to run back into the church when it's time to go home.
