Finally... He Has Arrived

After 21 hours of labor and NO meds (Not by choice) Our beautiful little baby boy Braxton Tyler Tucker greeted us on Tuesday, October 7th at 6:24 pm. Weighing in at a whoppin 9 LBS 3 OZ & 20.5 Inches long.

My jaw dropped when they put him on the scale! All I could think of is what in the world did I eat?? But after meeting this little guy it was a known fact he just has his daddy's appetite!

He has been the greatest joy in Our lives & we can't imagine our life with out him. We are so in love with this little guy and feel so blessed to be a part of his life. We feel so lucky & are truly blessed.

My labor & delivery went pretty well... We left off with a post Monday afternoon after my Dr.'s Appointment. My Doctor finally stripped my membranes and when I got home I wanted to see if I could get the ball rolling a little faster on my own. I decided to hop on the treadmill and bounce on my exercise ball for a little bit. With in an hour I started having A LOT of pressure in my lower back but thought nothing of it since no pain was in my stomach. Tyler came home and we headed off to our good friends flag football game. As I sat there watching the game the pressure seemed to get worse and worse with tightening every 6-7 mins.

I called my mom and she said the baby is just dropping but that I was for sure not in labor. The second we got in the car to leave and were pulling away they seemed to hit a little harder and now were every 3-5 mins apart. Tyler asked me if I was having a contraction and I said I don't know because at this point I was very confused what in the world a contraction was. Tyler was convinced they were contractions.

Little did I know the whole way home Tyler was timing these "contractions" by my facial expressions. We pulled into the driveway and Tyler said okay lets go get our bags and lets go. It took me over an hour to talk him out of taking me to the hospital because I was sure this wasn't it.

I have never seen Tyler so mad in his life let a lone at me. The look on his face was FURIOUS!!! He was just too excited & worried about getting there on time.

I told him lets go to bed and see if they get worse. WOW! Did they get worse. I got up and took a shower for about 45 mins and when I couldn't stand through the last contraction I knew it was time to go! I woke Tyler up and told him "Okay I think this is it!" Tyler was up in seconds. We made it to the hospital around 3 am. We had the cutest security guards greet us and send us up to labor and delivery in an elevator. By this time I couldn't handle the contractions and was pleased to be told I was at a 2. Our nurse told me we weren't going anywhere and she was going to make sure of it as she watched how much pain I was in through each contraction.

I progressed very quickly but my doctor wanted me to to get to a 3 before I got my epidural so he put a pain killer into my IV to take the edge off the edge off each contraction until then. Well I am quite a light weight and with in 2 mins of getting this pain killer I was out and with in 20 mins later my water broke and I was able to get my Epidural on top of the pain killer. Once I reached a 5 my body just wouldn't progress and they found that little Braxton was posterior (face up) They told me that there is now a chance of a C-Section but hopefully he would turn on his own. They put my on the "PIT" to get me to progress just a little faster. At this point I was starting to falling asleep about every 5 mins and stay in a conversation for about 2. Well my body didn't take to the "PIT" very well and freaked out a little cancelling out all the other meds in my system. I progressed 4 cm in 45 mins! With no meds in my system and no breaks in between contractions my body had had enough! OUCH!!! This is the one part of my labor I remember. It came time to push and little Braxton had turned 75% on his own so things were looking good exept that by this time they could not keep me conscious, which now I look at as a blessing. After an hour and a half of pushing they decided forceps needed to come into play I was very worried about using them especially since I was not numb AT ALL. We put our trust in the Doctor and with in mins our baby was born all NATURAL. We both had fevers right after the delivery due to a long stressful labor but went down by the time they gave him his bath. Because I was in and out of consciousness I asked that I didn't hold my little guy so nervous that I would drop him. This was the most AMAZING most Spiritual experience I have ever witnessed & I would do it again in a heartbeat but pray the drugs work even somewhat next time!

Finally... I get to hold my little guy for the first time.
